The head of NEMA, Major General G. Ariunbuyan and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary H. Kobayashi of Japan to Mongolia signed a memorandum to implement the “Project to Reuse Fire Fighting Vehicles in Four Provinces of Mongolia” within the framework of the “Grass Roots-Grant to Ensure Human Safety” project of the Government of Japan.
Within the framework of the project, fire fighting vehicles used in Japan will be distributed to Erdenetsogt of Bayankhongor province, Huld of Dundgov province, Otgon of Zavkhan province, Uench of Hovd province, and Myangad sum.
Therefore, the project gives the opportunity to increase the capacity and preparedness to fight fires, as well as ensure the safety of the residents of the Sums.
The Government of Japan has been implementing the “Grass Roots – Grants for Human Security” program in Mongolia for 32 years from 1990 until today, and it is the first project to be implemented in NEMA.
