NEMA signs the cooperation plan with Buryatian counterparts

National Emergency Management Agency and the Department of the Ministry of Civil Defense, Emergencies and Disaster Relief of Russia in Buryatia held a meeting in Orkhon province to approve a plan to work together in the field of prevention, fight against and eradicate the consequences of transboundary disasters between in 2023-2025.

The deputy chief of the NEMA, colonel Namsrai.D and General A.A. Markov, the Director of the Main Department of the Ministry of Civil Defence, Emergencies and Disaster Relief of Russia in Buryatia undersigned the cooperation plan. 

Within the framework of cooperation, operational conditions and information on potential disasters and threats shall be immediately exchanged, and coordinated. The capacity-building joint training for the emergency officers will be organized with regard to estimating, preventing and responding to the risks of transboundary disasters in the northern region of Orkhon, Darkhan-Uul, Selenge, TUV, Arkhangai, Bulgan, and Khuvsgul province.

As part of this collaboration that has been effective since 1999, the parties have been working together to train responders for water rescue in Khuvsgul lake, field exercises, and short and long-term training for transboundary wildfires.
