Participated in the Asia-Pacific Earthquake Response Exercise

Representatives led by Brigadier General B. Uuganbayar, deputy chief of NEMA, participated in the “Asia-Pacific Earthquake Response Exercise” organized by the Government of Australia in cooperation with the United Nations International Search and Rescue Advisory Group.

In this exercise, more than 30 countries’ representatives participated which was organized on the 21st-25th of August. The exercise was conducted at a time when many people were injured and buildings collapsed due to a strong earthquake in the territory of the Australian state of Queensland.

During the exercise, the Australian Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Fire and Rescue Service, and international urban search and rescue teams conducted humanitarian aid and natural disaster response exercises and gained mutual experiences.
