Major General G. Ariunbuyan, the Chief of NEMA, recently met with Ali Muslu, who has been appointed as the Program Coordinator for the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) in Ulaanbaatar.
During their meeting, the two sides discussed the current state of disaster management in both countries and explored opportunities for future cooperation. Since 2005, the National Emergency Management Agency has been collaborating with TIKA to improve the disaster management capabilities of the Emergency Services.
The partnership has focused on responding to the aftermath of disasters, training personnel, and delivering humanitarian assistance.
For instance, in 2016, TIKA provided aid and supplies to provinces affected by severe winter conditions. In 2022, TIKA awarded a grant to enhance the disaster response capabilities of the Emergency Management Agency, which included supplying a medical vehicle designed for rugged terrain.
