Two underwater search and rescue drones were officially handed over to Colonel Ts. Ganzorig, First Deputy Chief of Staff of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), as part of the “Child-Centered Disaster Risk Reduction Program” jointly implemented by NEMA and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
These advanced drones are capable of performing various critical tasks, including exploration at depths of up to 200 meters, operating in air temperatures ranging from -10°C to +50°C, organizing rapid rescue operations, ensuring rescuer safety, detecting submerged objects, and assessing water quality.
During the handover, discussions were held on future cooperation initiativesfor 2025. Additionally, both sides reviewed the progress of the project “Protecting Public Health in Flood Risk Areas of Ulaanbaatar City and Improving Water Supply, Sanitation, and Hygiene,” which includes the delivery of portable sanitary facilities.
