Firefighting operations conducted for 48 forest and steppe fires

Nationwide, as of April 12, a total of 48 forest and steppe fire incidents have been recorded in 32 soums across 8 aimags and 2 districts of the capital city. Fire suppression operations have been successfully organized and carried out in response.

Preliminary reports indicate that these fires affected 704 hectares of forest land and 228,302 hectares of steppe, totaling 229,006 hectares. Emergency responders managed to protect 35 gers, 19 winter shelters, and associated fences and sheds from fire damage. Additionally, 8 residents from 3 households and approximately 2,000 livestock were safely evacuated.

A total of 1,653 personnel and 264 vehicles participated in the firefighting operations, including teams from the National Emergency Management Agency, Border Protection Agency, Police, and local authorities.
