The 17th Session of the Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the UN Convention to Combat Desertification is running from August 17–28. As part of this event, a themed "Water Day" will take place tomorrow, August 25.
The "Water Day" event, held at the Government Exhibition in Blue Zone, is being led by Mongolia's Deputy Prime Minister, with the National Emergency Management Agency, the Agency for Standardization and Metrology, and the Water Authority taking part together.
During the event, panel discussions will be held on the following themes: "Climate and Water-Related Disaster Risks and Early Action," "Understanding Water, Land, and the Environment: Linking Natural Systems, Science, and Society," "Water, Regional Development, and Special Economic Zones," and "Freshwater Ecosystem Conservation and Standardization in the Water Sector."
