Proposal exchange on the joint project implementation: "transit adjustment due to climate change"

During the meeting, both sides discussed the joint implementation of the project "Managing Migration Caused by Climate Change," which will be carried out by the International Organization for Migration. 

Exchange of information on negotiation implementation and cooperation

Parties discussed recent forest and wildfires near the border. Additionally, they consulted on plans for joint organization of fire prevention efforts in both countries' border areas and ports.

Capacity of laboratories for early diagnosis of animal diseases

USAID has successfully executed various projects in Mongolia focusing on small and medium-sized enterprises, energy sector reforms, and food security. Notably, efforts in strengthening laboratory capacity for the early diagnosis and prevention of animal diseases have been particularly significant. The agency is also working on a project to empower state emergency workers. Both sides discussed ways to enhance disaster prevention and early warning systems. 

Officers attend "international firefighters and rescuers training"

This training covers various topics including disaster and security management, urban search and rescue operations, search and rescue in smoky environments, the use of rescue equipment, and first aid. The training will be held from October 22 to 31.

Duties of equipment supplied within the project introduced

The team also learned how this equipment is compatible with Mongolia's environment and climate.

Exchanged views on cooperation

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on enhancing cooperation and utilizing space technology for emergency response.

Exchanged views on the project implemention

During the meeting, the sides discussed the "Technical Assistance Project for Strengthening the Integrated Disaster Notification System" being implemented in Mongolia from 2020 to 2022 with financing from the Asian Development Bank.
